I personally would go with 2 wr lenses, because from my personal experience I found I need more range!

Confirm which lenses actually come with the kit. Unless Costco has put together their own package, the standard Pentax K-30 kit with 18-55 and 50-200 lenses are not WR lenses, they are DA L. When I purchased my K-30 several weeks ago from Best Buy their website left off the "L". I thought I was getting DA lenses. I do agree about the ease of use of the controls on the Pentax.

Just to throw another option in to confuse you, have you considered the 18-135 WR lens instead of the twin lenses?

When I was deciding on what to buy recently, the consensus seemed to be that it is a much better lens than either of the ones in the kit you are looking at.
It will give you the same wide angle and about 70% of the tele reach of the two combined kit lenses, and you can just leave it on the camera rather than having to switch if 55 isn't long enough for a particular shot.

I was basically in your position a few weeks ago, and finished up deciding on Pentax for much the same reasons as others have commented in this thread. Having a couple of PK lenses from my film SLR days also pushed me in the Pentax direction. I finished up saying 'damn the expense' and ordered a K5-II with the 18-135 WR. If I need anything longer I have an ancient Sun 35-200 and a 2x tele-converter for a little extra reach.

I hope you don't think too much. 200 DOLLARS!?
