K5 Lens Correction

In Recording Mode Menu 1, Lens Correction is grayed out. The camera body was purchased new 4 days ago. When I first attached a lens (Sigma 50mm f1.4 EX/DG), I saw options for Lens Correction in this menu and I opted in for both corrections. Any thoughts? Attached a different lens and Lens Correction is still grayed out!

If I recall correctly that option is available selectively based on lens and other settings. Nothing wrong from your description.

In-camera lens correction (LC) is only available with Pentax lenses. (NB: it is mostly relevant to zoom lenses, since LC is typically irrelevant to primes.)

Generally, the consensus is to do the lens correction during in-computer post-processing. There are more flexibility and options, while in-camera lens correction slows down the camera (eg. for Hi continuous shooting).

Hope that the comment will help.
