K30 Ratteling

Every time I use Live View I hear a ratteling, and when I remove the lens, I can see something moving around in front
of the LCD screen. When I attached a screw mount mirror lens, it was so loud it sounded like the battery was floating around.
Should I contact Pentax?

Bob

It is likely just the shake reduction, when the camera is off the sensor is free floating. When you're in live view it is moving around to compensate for your hands moving.

I often read Pentax reviews by people who are put off by the rattling sound of the SR mechanism. Pentax should have a notification in red letters on the opening page of the instruction manuals to their DSLRs: the rattling sound is nothing to worry about.

No one reads manuals anyway, there might be a chance someone will read it if they put it on a sticker on the body cap though.

A sticker with the text:

Be not solicitous of rattles and clunks
This camera will live longer than you

The rattle in my camera is only obvious in live view, is that your experience too?

Yes, SR only works in live view and when shooting. Looking from the viewfinder doesnt give you a stabilized image (though the actual picture is)
