Optio Z10- desperate

Hi everyone, I am new here so I hope I am posting in the correct forum.
I upgraded my computer to a Macbook Air running OS 10.8. When I loaded the Pentax disc I got an error message that "powerpc applications no longer supported". I have had the Optio for about 4 years and am happy with it. I can't afford to buy a new camera- Is there a workaround for this? Is there maybe something I can download that will bypass this issue?
Any help or guidance would be appreciated!
Thank you!

The camera should be plug-and-play when connected via USB without needing any additional software. If your disc is 4 years old then it won't work on 10.8.

Sigh.... did I mention that I am a techno-dummy? You are absolutely right, of course. For some reason I was thinking I had to install via the dvd.....
Thank you Adam!!!

PENTAX Z 10 OPTIO

I am a regular PENTAX Camera owner. I have a OPTIO Z10, which I purchased a few years ago, and do not wish to part with it. Unfortunately, the LCD screen does not function due to some mishandling and I have been trying to get it repaired, but told that the spare was not available. Please suggest a solution. I also need a Spare Battery and a Charger unit.

Many thanks if you can assist me. regards -
