Tv mode not maintaining shutter speed

I have noticed that, when setting my K-5II to Tv mode, the shutter speed that I set seems to change as I shoot. I was under the impression that Tv mode uses a fixed shutter speed and that the aperture and ISO would change accordingly.

Any ideas as to why it would be doing that?

Check your custom settings:
Auto EV compensation should be set to OFF.
If it's on, it "saves the day" by "fixing" your "incorrect" exposures.

...that or you're accidentally bumping the E-dial that controls the shutter speed.

That was it - thanks!

When I couldn't use Tv, I resorted to TAv mode, and allowed my ISO setting to float, which worked well for me. In fact, now I think I prefer TAv mode to Tv mode, as I can set both the shutter speed and the aperture.

It didn't matter which lens I was using.

I doubt it, but it's possible I suppose...

I also have found the TAv mode very useful

Tv mode is meant to allow you to set the shutter speed when the camera meters for proper exposure (changing aperture for a given ISO). In the normal operation, the ISO is fixed unless you change to auto-ISO. Therefore, if you have the camera set to low ISO, the camera tries to set the proper exposure by changing to the widest aperture value first, and if it is still not enough it will lower the shutter speed to obtain the proper exposure - remember you have the ISO value set to "fixed" instead of "auto. I doubt that you have bumped the control of the dial... it is by design how Tv mode works.
