K100D Viewfinder / Sensor Misalignment

Dealing with some sort of viewfinder/sensor misalignment issue here. When I take a photo with an object centered in the field of the viewfinder, the actual photo results with the image up and to the left of center. Don't exactly know why this is happening, and has only happened in the past month or so.

Obviously since it's a K100D I've had it for many years, and I've taken it on many trips where it's been banged around a bit, including a long trip around Italy in the spring, but nothing had happened until recently. Advice?

According to the service manual, page 24, it might need a mirror adjustment.

Thanks. Any idea what that would cost, vaguely?

Considering labor rates and the amount of disassembly required, the cost would probably be more than what your K100D is worth.

CRIS (the Pentax repair facility) does give estimates on repairs. It might be worth asking them.

Nice that can be done.
I have 3 Nikon D5100s that all have significant misalignments and they cannot be adjusted like that.
Replacement parts were similarly out of alignment. Nearly 1 degree rotation.

I have that on my K-5, which is significant, but it has perspective adjustment, so we're all good there.

I've noticed this on my K100ds. As it's been converted to IR, I assumed this had something to do with the missalignment but it wasn't like that when I received it back from the conversion store. So...hmmm. OTOH, while annoying, it's not unworkable either.
