Don't be put off by the comments. He was just trying to be sarcastic as evidenced by his "/sarc" tag. But not everyone would have caught that. The dangers of communicating by teletype.

I try to be a stickler with proper units myself, because I deal with a lot of people in my day job who are not native English speakers. At the same time I have a high tolerance for those who do not always spell things out correctly. When in doubt, I try to spell out rather than use abbreviations. I do the same here, because like my day job, this is an international forum..

For what it's worth, pixels are integer quantities the last time I checked, so there should be no confusion. Maybe the new on-sensor phase detection pixels will change that, what with "split pixels" and such.

Actually, I missed that as well. /tags are seen easier (and, to continue the general trend, more correctly placed ) when used in a line by themselves.

Humor is good but I would just hate for someone who posts relatively infrequently to feel that he/she is being bullied. I like to think this forum is inclusive, and in any case it certainly relies on good/fair questions, as well as good/fair answers. Along with (or perhaps in spite of) occasional humor.

Maybe I should just shut up now.

Thank you Na Horuk. I was pretty sure that was the case with Raw files, but wanted to check before I dropped $89 on a 16gb memory card I did order the card this morning. I will probably put a review/opinion up once I get it setup. All the reviews I've read seem to be 5 or 1 star, but I feel like a lot of it is user error. Hopefully it works out.
I have the eye-fi pro 8gig card in my k5. I shoot raw+jpg. The pro card has a pretty steep learning curve, at least it did for me, but once you figure out some of the tricks it works really really well. I'm currently using the card to allow me to do two things.

1) at home to push jpg photos of my kids from my k5 to my android phone for immediate posting to Facebook and email. I still process the raw photos on my computer for storage and printing, but the eye-fi card gives me a lot more freedom to share the moment as it happens.

And

2) at work to push photos from product photo shoots to my phone for review on a larger screen and sharing immediately with remote employees

I'm currently only sending select photos to my phone, I do this by setting the card up to only send jpg files and files which I have 'protected'. This minimises the transfer time (seconds for jpg files) and only sends pictures I want to use to my phone. This might do what you want. I really find the transfer times to be minimal, but I'm only sending the normal jpg files and not raw to my phone.

There are a lot of other features to play with but I zeroed in on exactly what I needed and focused on getting that working first. Be prepared to spend some time getting it working and don't be afraid to contact their customer support. In my own opinion the company spent more time getting features into the card than on getting those features easy to use. Therefore, you will need to work at it and experiment to get the best results from it.

This is my first post to this site so I apologise if it sucks, I was sucked in by the really useful posts from other members and the promise that ads will now go away if I just join. Thus here I am.
