Hi,
The problems is the flange on some K mount lenses. It could be cut off without affecting the lens or mount. This post will help with this type of lens surgery.

Good luck with it and enjoy the lens.
Best regards,
Yuriy

Thnx Yuriy ,

i think this can be the solution , i will try it out , but i find it strange that everywhere you read that the lenses are compatible with all k-mount , because mine i cannot mount it on my camera body

It is true when talking about Pentax branded lenses with the exception of one rare lens, the 35-70 autofocus lens that came with the ME-F. However, third party manufacturers did nonstandard things like this, it wasn't an issue at the time but caused an issue with cameras with PZ/SDM contacts later on. Same with the Ricoh pin found in many older lenses, at the time it was completely compatible with K mounts, but when Pentax added screwdrive autofocus the pin could get stuck.

Could have been worse, your first experience could have been the Ricoh pin, your lens could be stuck half mounted on the camera with no easy way to get it back off. theatre of noise: Ricoh Lenses On Pentax Cameras -- The Ricoh Pin Fix

These are the only two problems you should run into as far as compatibility with third party stuff.

There's two or three screws holding that flange on, just remove them and throw the flange away. I had to do that with one I had.

Same thing, except I would save it in case you wanted to resell it someday.

There are a few others with certain M-42 lenses and accessories (bellows and such). The typical issues are mirror clearance, focus ring clearance (e.g. Helios 44-3 58/2), and various protrusions present on lenses designed to work with special features on other brand cameras.
