K5 video to LCD TV

Hi.
I have tried to view videos and photos on two different TVs, (Samsung and Sony) through the USB cable supplied but neither TVs recognize the camera. Is this normal?
Any assistance would be appreciated.

That's not going to work. You need to use an HDMI cord to forward the camera's screen image to your TVs.

You have two options, normally.

If those TV's had composite AV inputs somewhere, the supplied I-AVC7 cable should also work (K-5 manual, p-256).

It can work actually, if you set the camera to MSC mode instead of PTP a lot of TVs will mount it just like a thumb drive. Even my cheap Philips TV can do that. Though, some TVs might not like the video format, the images should be fine.
