Purchased 35-70mm Pentax F ZOOM

Hello, I just purchased a 35-70mm Pentax F ZOOM lens for my K-30. And it won't fire. I do have the lens set to the A features on the lens, but nothing happens. Is there something I need to do for it function?

Try cleaning the contacts.

Do you have the allow aperture set in the camera? In Custom Menu, number 4, item 23. Set it for the second option. enabled.

Sounds like dirty contacts, most likely on the lens. A cotton swab and some rubbing alcohol works wonders.
