Lens adjustment

Bert, fine tuning can be done from the menu. Lower models only have one adjustment that applies to all lenses, upper models have that general adjustment plus further adjustments that can be customized by lens model. What camera do you have?

I have the Pentax K-50. I saw some forum posts of people opening up the bottom of the camera and playing around with the two adjustment screws. I must admit I raised an eyebrow, when I saw the extent some people would go to. I don't think I'd do that, but if' there's another way to fine-tune within the camera settings, please do enlighten me.

On my K-5 the menu function is called "AF Fine Adjust". It correct front-focus or back-focus. The K-50 might use the same or a different name in the menu. Check your manual. You definitely don't have to mechanically tinker with the camera; if things are that far out warranty service is justified.

Having said that, if your lens is reasonably sharp with your camera there's no need to adjust anything.

I found the fine tune adjustment in my camera. Can you provide a link that shows how to adjust it properly?
