He is talking about slow downs on certain files though, which sounds like faulty sectors. Reformatting might be a temporary fix, as faulty sectors may be put out of use... But if parts of the card are faulty it wouldn't be too surprising if more will fail in the near future.

I would not use the card for paid assignments anymore, or at most as a backup last resort card when everything else was filled up. Better get a new card, just to be safe.
