Body caps

Ive been having fun with my K5ii lately but i've come across a dilemma. I like to separate my lens and body so I can store them better but the flimsy plastic translucent cap for the body falls off pretty easy. So I'm wondering, are there any hardier camera body caps out there? When i search body caps, I just seem to find lens body caps.

Thanks,
Kajiru

That is quite strange as I get many "correct" hits when I type "Pentax body cap" in Google...

Just buy a DA 40mm XS and use it as body cap
And in a pinch, you can just aim and shoot - fast AF, good IQ

Keep It Covered?

Hello Kajiru, welcome to the forum!
Try typing 'Pentax DSLR body cap' on eBay, they'll come up, usually less than $5.00 USD. Sometimes they're sold in sets, the body cap and rear lens cap, which is handy, also. The black plastic ones with the white dot (alignment) seem to be the best, the white OEM versions don't stay on very well.

I found the same with my K50 with the white body cap so I got one as mentioned. The only difference is the one I purchased is the same as my Pentax film camera body cap. It covers the contacts on the body but leaves about 1/16 of the metal ring still exposed which I don't think will hurt anything as long as the camera remains in a camera bag most of the time.

For $ 0.50 each I bought some 3- bayonet type caps from Mandee Camera, India. Just google.
