new 55-300 tele

been waiting for the WR version of the 55-300, any feedback on its advantages (other than WR) or disadvantages vs prior models? thanks

I'd say WR is the Real Big Thing here. But from what Heie says in this thread it seems there is less wobble and creep on the new lens. Not that I have noticed much of either on the old one.

WR and quickshift (over the DAL version) and HD coatings. Many people have been waiting for a WR version for a long time. 55-300 is already a good lens and the addition of WR and HD coatings are just icing on the top of a really good cupcake

I would guess that Ricoh will also tighten up the QC and tolerances on this, but not having seen an HD model, that's only my supposition. And to be honest the SMC version was already pretty good with few complaints.
