The P3s don't have a cable release interface. I'm not sure why there is a picture of a P3 with one attached. I always had to put a rubber band around the shutter and uncover the lens with my hat for long exposures.

On my P3, it is exactly where the photo shows it to be. I always wondered what that port was for. Mine has no cover. It is just a chrome port to screw the cable into.
If you're looking at the front of the camera, its not on the flat part of the body. It is on the side of the pedestal the lens mounts to, about an inch below the ML (mirror lock) button.

Is this a throw-down?
I always thought it looked like a Shrader valve. I never even occured to me that the P3 would have remote trigger.
Should we swap?

I wonder how they are different... My manual shows nothing on a trigger. ?
I don't use it very often, but I'll gladly trade lenses :/

The original P3 didn't have cable release, an Auto setting on the shutter dial and some other feature. The P3n (US name) had all that.
