man or auto - please help!

hi everyone
this is probably obvious but i am confused

i have a nearly new 67II after years of using 35mm. its an amazing peice of kit! however, i cant work out what i should set the depth of field lever to on the pentax 75mm lens when metering.

im shooting at 250 / second with F8 appeture. Do i meter and shoot with the work 'auto' showing or the word 'man' showing? or meter in auto then select manual? im confused

any help appreciated
cheers

Great camera you’ll love it and welcome to the forum!

Leave the lever on “AUTO” for regular shooting and metering. If you want to check the scenes “Depth of Field” then move the lever to “MAN”, when done move it back to “AUTO”.

The exception is if you are using the AE prism and a lens with an extension tube, then you have to put the lever in “MAN” to get a meter reading.

Enjoy the 67II.

Phil.

thanks very much Phil!!! thanks for the warm welcome!
i was confused because my dad used to have a very old 67 with no mirror lock up. he always had to focus and compose the shot, and the stop the lens down to get his selected apperture. i can remember him getting annoyed when he forgot to do so

so i guess the 67 II thats not necessary!
its an awesome camera, it feels very well made and designed, i cant wait to shoot some film

thanks again
thanks for making me welcome!
