If only I had read this two weeks ago! I went from a Nikon point and shoot, to 2 Pentax SLRs, 2 Pentax DSLRs, Six Lenses, and other Accessories.
OH-OH looks like your 2 short in the lens department. 2 more and you will have 2 lenses for each body.

I only have one 50 mm, but my key lenses all have female names, i.e. my SMC Pentax-A 50mm F1.2 is my "Special Lady"
I have six 50s but the " special lady" has a way of curbing LBA as far as 50s are concerned. Then again I wouldn't mind the close to 50 da* 55, and we're back to LBA again.

@EJMzagsfan I've settled on the Pentax DA* 55mm f/1.4 as a keeper. Pricey, but worth it. I'm not bothering with other 50s at all.

Because you can!! The benefit is you have them and use them and love them!!! Just pulled the trigger on a tamron 28-200 zoom. Why? So I could have it. Only cost $47 which is awesome!!! On a more serious note, you will find that different versions of the same focal length will give unique results. some better bokeh, some better color, etc.

You don't have LBA until you own five 50mm lenses.

You aren't in real trouble until you've bought enough from shopgoodwill.com to know how long it will take the goodwill you bought from to ship the lens and how they are going to ship it. (Tacoma GW will take a week after you pay to ship and it takes another week for UPS to drop it off).
Thought I was the only shopgoodwill shopper. lol. I've had really good buys, except for the last two. I thought I was buying a 35-80 FA and got a F which based on reviews on the forum is inferior. I try to get stuff from closer to me in Georgia. It must be expensive to Liverpool. Good hunting.

About half a year I sold my K-30 to a friend and decided to get the Ricoh GR. It is smaller, and I don't need a camera that often anyhow... or so I tried to tell myself.
Now the arrival of the K-3 made he K5IIs inexpensive enough.... and BOOM, I am at:
Pentax K5IIs
Pentax SMC M-28 F2.8
Pentax SMC M-50 F1.4
Pentax SMC M-120 F2.8
Pentax SMC DA 55-300mm F4-5.8
Pentax SMC DA 21 F3.2 AL Limited
Pentax SMC FA 50mm F1.4
Pentax SMC FA* 85mm F1.4
Tamron AF 17-50mm F2.8

Plus a K1000SE and a ME.

LBA... it just gets you.

That is the reason my list of lenses and bodies is only one page long.
I am how ever drooling over another lens at this moment.
My advice would be to just keep decreasing the font size...you could make that one page list stretch...

Cheers

My thoughts on gear addiction, YMMV.
- There is no reason to accumulate a pile of lenses (or bodies), I have found it only confuses you and gets you to the point where you are convinced you need different equipment than you have to get a good shot, rather than getting good with what you have.
- There is no reason to buy cheap gear that you will replace later, better to do without and put the money towards better stuff when you can afford it. There are too many rules and exceptions to this point to get into, (like what "cheap" vs acceptable is) so I will let you decide how to define it and leave it at that.
- There is no reason to buy into multiple systems if they do the same thing. For example if you like retro and want a Spotmatic and M42 lenses that's great, but there is no reason to buy into M42 if you already have a K body with capable lenses, better to put the money into supplies or better K lenses. Same thing for multiple brands, if you have one brand that works for you stick with it and build the compatible system.

I used to have really big problems with the mental condition known as collecting, which I see as the accumulation and management of useless things because of their historical value or rarity or place in a set. Now function is deciding factor #1 and I am allowed to choose form only when it doesn't interfere with function (stuff like colors and styles).

I should mention any of my gear that seems to be overlapping is so that I can have a friend along using either the K1000 for film with whichever lens, or more commonly the K20D for digital with the kit lens and Tamron zoom. Eventually the K5 will replace the K20D and I will get a newer body but no rush there. Also I have split the lens herd and all manual focus lenses are normally for my frequently used film cameras while the AF herd is slowly growing for the digital bodies.
I consider my cheap long AF zooms breaking my quality rule btw but I got the the FA80-320 for $30 shipped and desperately needed the longer focal length, and the Tamron I got for about the same price as a guest lens to compliment the WR kit lens.
