Pentax K-x light meter issue

Hi, my K-x's (yes, digital) light meter stopped working today properly.
It always indicates overexposure, and sets the shutter speed to 1/6000 (still saying it's overexposed, even at that shutter speed).
It says that, irrespective of lens used (M42 or kit lens), or metering mode (M, Av, Tv, Auto).
I tried resetting it to factory defaults, still does that.
In live view mode, light metering still works fine, though.
What's to be done?

I'm afraid it is time to visit the camera hospital. Something is broken.
