Lightroom lens metadata error - DA* 200

Anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it? Just picked up a DA* 200, but when importing RAW files into Lightroom 4 the program recognizes it as the DA* 50-135. There doesn't appear to be any way to edit EXIF files or metadata in lightroom after import, so looking for a solution that will let LR recognize the correct lens upon import. Any ideas?

Cannot help with your question as I don't have that lens. But just for testing purposes try a few jpegs and see if that makes any difference to LR. Then take those jpegs and open in other software (FastStone, IrfanView, PhotoMe) and see what results you get there. That will determine if it is a lens issue or a LR issue.

There is this plugin which I have not used but is reputed to work: LensTagger Lightroom plugin

And try buffing the lens contacts with a microfiber cloth. I sincerely doubt that will do anything, but it is the standard answer for all lens communication issues.

You could manually select the correct profile, then save that. (Below the Enable Profile Corrections checkbox, there's Setup: Custom, click on Custom and an option is there to save your manual choice as the new default.) But then you may have a problem with the DA* 50-135.

i tried that manual selection trick last night, took some test shots today, and now LR is recognizing the 200 just fine. Hadn't thought about the impact on the 50-135 though, but just took another test shot and that is correct as well. Not quite sure what happened.
Maybe the lens profile was missing or corrupted or just needed to be woken up. Will post again if the problem recurs, but fixed for now. Thanks for the responses.
