New K3 used DA*16-50 does not work

Hi
Just got a brand new K3 and bought a 16-50 on this form that was suppose to work just fine I have charge the battery and made no changes to the default setting on the K3 but the 16-50 does not focus on AF at all. Am I doing something wrong with this lens or did I get a dud and it really was not working as was told by the seller on this form. I have tried multiple settings and nothing works. I have another lens that focuses fine Guess I got a bad lens. Any suggestions
Thanks for any help

Try cleaning the lens contacts with a soft cloth or microfibre cloth and give it a go again.

Are you sure it's not focusing? I just got a DA* 50 - 135 this week for my new K3, and I didn't think it was working because I couldn't hear it. Felt kinda dumb after I figured out it was really working.

A long time ago, I had a 16 - 50 that had these symptoms and the SDM had died. Once it was repaired by CRIS, it worked fine for the rest of the time that I owned it. You should contact the seller and discuss this with him. If it really is defective and the seller won't make good on it, be sure to leave him negative feedback so the rest of us can avoid him. Sorry this has happened to you.

Try turning the screw drive focus contact on the lens with a small screw driver, this technique works on my 50-135 before I finally decided to send it for repair for SDM failure.

If you paid with Paypal you can file a claim within 45 days.
Before doing that send a private message to Adam ( this sites owner) to see if they have a way to contact the seller for you.)
I have had excellent experience in the market here but there are sometimes bad transactions.

Is the K3 setup to use back button focus? The AF botton on the rear and not use the shutter button. I have my K5 setup like that and always confuses people who try to use my camera.

Or does your K3 focus with another lens?
