Updating K3

Having trouble with running the file that I down load from the Ricoh site to update the K3 I format the card try to unzip and it say acrchieving not unzipping
I am a mac used and using the right file and then I try to update but camera does not recognise the file

Do I need software or instal the Pentax software to extract the file?

No software needed. Download the Mac version and extract the ".bin" file from the archive. Place that file in the root of the memory card and follow the instructions on the website to update.

All you need to do is get the .BIN file out of the zip, then copy it over to the SD card.

I had issues updating my K-3 with my Mac and I had to alter the name of the file. This is the thread I started that got me help to get my K-3 updated:
