High ISO flash

Hiya all. Can anybody explain the green and red patterns on this pic please. ISO1600 flash used on a MX1. Any comments gratefully received. Attachment below.

That looks like lighting already present inside the club/building.

Top left of the photo you can see one source of those lights in the room.

Yeah I know there is that sort of lighting in the room but the patches in the picture were not visible to the eye. I also took some pics of the band that were playing that night and they were ok. Thanks for the comments.

Well, you were there and we weren't, Geoff.

What was that thing? It or similar pieces of equipment must have been the source. The colours match.
