upside down pictures

I have just returned from a day out, taking several pictures with my K-30. Bizarrely, having downloaded them all, two are upside down. These are shots taken with the camera in a 'normal' horizontal grip. Nothing unusual at all. Looking at the pictures with the card back in the camera, they are also upside-down.

It's easy to turn them the right way up. But that's not the point, is it? Has this happened to anyone else?

seems to. It's strange. Just two of around 30 pictures.

This also happened to me several weeks ago...but I know how I did it. While in preview I accidentally touched a setting that flipped the image. Don't have the K-30 in front of me right now to tell you what exactly I touched. But I do remember that it was while I was in preview.

Chances are that you had the sensor plane held approximately parallel to the horizontal plane on these 2 pics. It is quite common to have the image rotated 90 deg, 180 deg or -180 deg in this scenario because of discrepancy.

Those two images are for the Australian market and are good to go.

It has happened to me several times over the past year with my K-30. Happens so infrequently I have never really looked into it. Image rotation is easy to do in post.

thanks for all the advice guys. I agree it is easy to correct - and the pictures are fine. It just seemed a little strange. That others have had this happen too is a little bizarre, but perhaps exactly the harmless quirky error that will endear the K-30 to me even more. I just LOVE this camera.

This has happened to me a number of times too, with auto rotation turned off. Always wondered what was going on. Suddenly for no reason I get a half dozen upside down shots then everything else before and after is normal...don't have a clue what causes it.

This has happened to me once or twice as well - not on a K-30, but on a K200D. I don't remember if it even had auto-rotation.
