Audio & video

Got a new k5ll a couple months ago, Easter weekend tried viddo ,seems nice but when I downloaded to my computer using elements 9 everything is nice but can not get any sound. I can get sound when connected to tv. Any help would be very appreciated. Thanks

I don't think adobe premiere can work with the K-5's audio codec. You will need to find a converter than can change the .AVI file format to something usable by premiere (like .MOV).

There should be plenty of threads on this topic elsewhere on the forum, as it's quite a common issue. That's why Pentax switched over to the H.264 codec and future DSLRs save .MOV's.

Do the video files brought into your computer play ok with a media player program?

Yes they will play,but no sound!

Hello Neil,
are you Mac or PC? if you have a PC, download VLC (sometimes called VideoLan) and try playing the file; VLC seems to play most files.
Again I'm talking from a PC perspective but do you have other video editing programs (or friends who have other editing programs)?
I use a K-r which also produces Avi files and quite happily edit these on Serif Movieplus (from memory I've also edited these with Sony Vegas)
