The various 50mm f/2 K-mount Rikenons are pretty common. You would have little to lose with an attempted repair since a replacement would be easy to come by and inexpensive.

There are five variants that I am aware of:
  • XR Rikenon (metal build)
  • Rikenon S (plastic)
  • Rikenon (metal)
  • Rikenon (plastic)
  • Rikenon P (plastic)
I have two copies of the XR Rikenon 50/2 and one of the Rikenon P 50/2*. All three are quite sharp and all three suffer from somewhat "busy" bokeh at moderate apertures. I use them primarily for film photography.

Steve

* My Rikenon P has the benign "ball-type" version of the dreaded Ricoh pin. Other, more dangerous versions of the lens may be out there. Be aware before attempting to mount any P-series Rikenon to any Pentax auto-focus body.

Oh It is different to my XR Rikenon 1:2 50mm
Anyway here is a photo of that lens with the mount removed.
Note on the right side is a screwed on tang which carries the rotary motion forward to the aperture blade assembly
Taken with the Dental Macro at f/16 on the K-01 which shows there is too much dust on the rear glass of this old Rik

Good luck, I hope you can fix yours or at least get another Rikenon to match your KR-10

Push comes to shove those are pretty common and easy to find. I have a couple of Ricoh cameras a KR-30sp and an XRP both are great cameras and unfortunately the are collecting dust now Along with two Pentax SF1s.

Here's a site with a lot of good info on their cameras and lenses

Love Dr. Ricoh! While not absolutely complete and accurate (things get fuzzy with the lenses, specifically the various 50s), it is the best online resource that I am aware of.

Different from mine as well.

That lever is definitely not resting in the proper position. Looking at it from the perspective of the second picture it should be all the way to the left. You don't have anything to lose by opening it.

Exactly like my 50mm P f2 copy...Yep looking at mine it should be to the left and the aperture appears to be on F4. I know the aperture ring on my is stiff to turn, always has been but it fully opens, closes and functions perfect on all of my cameras.. I also have the 50mm P 1:1.4 funny this one is metal.

Yeah there is a notch on the aperture ring the lever that opens the apertures when it is turned fits into... Good thing for your post I just looked at my 50mm 1:1.4 and the last time I cleaned it I put it back together aligned wrong. It was opening with the aperture ring but not on the the correct aperture marks....DUH

Ok so when the lens is on the camera the aperture won't hold, like when I move the ring to a higher f stop it slings back to a lower f stop and vice Versa, any ideas why it's doing this?

First, I am glad you get the aperture lever fixed. Since it is a k/m lens, the only way it will work on your camera is M mode, plus you will also need to set "use of aperture ring permitted". When you turn the aperture ring, it does not seem to work, but when you trip the shutter release, it will stop down.
