Welcome to the Pentax Forums! Try formatting your memory card.

Thank you, I will give that a try. All the photos are now just coming out blown out completely. Every photo no matter what mode are just white. I may just be massing it up, there are a lot more features than my K-X.

Do they look like that on the back LCD immediately after the shot [instant preview] ?
How do they look when you play them back in the camera?

Sounds like you may need to exchange the camera then. There might be something wrong with the sensor wiring.

Did you just get the SD card?
Try another memory card if you have one.

Format doesn't do a whole lot to SD memory... you may get luck but only temporarily.
Try copying your system folder to the card (fill up the entire thing SD card as much as possible). Then copy it back to a new folder on your desktop.
See if any errors occur.

Alternatively if that is your only card, if you have Linux of Mac I would suggest "f3read" (F3 by Digirati)
This not only tests your card for errors, but sometimes can cause the card's internal OS to actually map out bad blocks and allow it to be useable again.

But sadly, I'm sort of siding with a bad camera.

ISO100 1/60 at f.2.8 using spot metering outside is a good recipe to blow out your exposure.
What happens on full Auto?

Make sure your battery is fully charged, do a camera reset, then switch to full auto mode and take a shot. Eliminate as many variables as possible.

Too bad.

I guess on the bright side, it certainly was unique. Most cameras take photos of what is front of you, obviously this K3 was channeling the psychic energy of the scene before you -- much more unusual.

I'm sure your next copy will be fine. Good luck!

Do you have only Raw or Raw+JPG option turned on? Are you using Picasa to view images? Picasa and other image viewers can not somehow render the Raw preview properly resulting in such a picture being displayed. I would try to just shoot JPG and run as many tests as possible before returning the camera.

You haven't said anything about troubleshooting. Which of the suggested fixes did you try? Did you reset all menu items? Shoot in Green Mode? Try another card? Another lens?
