Beep when focusing and moving camera??

Hello,

Just a general question—might be a silly one.

I have a Pentax k500 and I keep hearing a beep when I am moving the camera around and focusing to shoot. Just wondering what that little indicator is? I read the manual up and down and side-to-side, but cannot quite figure out what it is. Thanks in advance for your responses

Ahh. So when I hear that beep it means I am in focus as to the selected area, or as to the center of the shot?

The selected area, or wherever the camera focused if it was in auto af point mode.

you can turn the beep off in the config menu... sometimes, the beep is annoying..
