Can this lens be used on the K3 Camera?

You can use pretty much any K-mount lens on any K-mount camera!

It's my choice, anyway, for an all-'round AF telephoto zoom on the K3, complementing older MF primes & telephoto zooms adapted to K-mount/APS-C and m4/3 (i.e., lenses from Nikon, Kyocera/Zeiss, et.al.)... the latter mostly for subject categories like landscape and travel. I favor a lightweight kit for "the field". I also have the F 135mm/f.2.8, which I think makes for a very useful twosome along with the F series zoom. I should say that my personal main emphasis for shooting in APS-C are those FL's from 15mm (now, a DA 15 Ltd.) to 90mm (Series 1 macro), covered principally by primes... so I think the F 70-210mm represents an economical good fit for me (and maybe you) at present. The word here in the forums and in the lens database reviews is that it's good enough [for the K3], used judiciously.

It's a good lens, I used to use my dad's one a lot right up until it was killed one day (Dad was out shooting and the stitching failed on one of his photog jacket pockets... the 70-210 dropped and was ruined)

I now use the older 70-210 A series, also a great lens, just with the usual push/pull zoom creep issues.

But yes, the F lens was perfect on my *istDS.

Thank you.

Great news, thanks for the quick responses. Recently retired and went back through an old camera bag containing my SF1 following a prompt from my son. Keeping life simple, I had opted for smaller and lighter cameras and finally the I-phone, not good enough now with my 1st grandson. Looking forward to putting this lens and it's mate, the 35-70 to good use. Also have 24mm Tokina lens.

Yep, the K3 has a stronger screw focusing motor than the K5 series; so in a sense, the F 70-210 zoom is now better than ever.

I'd be careful about calling it the "K5 series" - especially in this context - since the K-5 II and IIs have the little-advertised (but very real) AF improvements over the K-5.

But absolutely, you make a good point: the K-3 does make it better than ever!
