Black spot on the LCD and pictures but not on VF

I took off the lens and cleaned it, and well, that's not the problem. While I had the lens off, I checked out the mirror and it looked clean. I've only had the camera for a couple of days and I'm enjoying it, but the pictures have the black spot. I assume it's dust, but where? searched the forums, but I only found answers to the opposite problem (spot on VF but not in pics). Total noob here, but you probably figured that out already.

Don't worry we have all been there. but for anyone to suggest what the problem might be will needs an image that shows the spot.

Can you attach an image showing it.

Probably on the sensor. You can try the "dust removal" option in the camera's menu - may need to do it 2 or 3 times. If that doesn't work, get yourself a Rocket Blower. You'll need it eventually anyway.

Sounds like dust. Try running dust removal and if that doesn't help, use a blower on your sensor. It's also a good idea to enable startup dust removal.

Tried dust removal ~10 times. No dice :/

I've attached a picture of my ceiling. You can clearly see the black spot.

Looks like a time for rocket blower and if that fails then a Pentax lollipop or wet cleaning swabs.
Do a search on how to clean a DSLR sensor.
You would be looking for something like this for cleaning tools.
