Focal lenght request with DA 20-40

When I change focal lenght (with body swiched off), when I switch on the body, I get the focal lenght request, as with old manual lenses. This happens not every time, every ten or so switches. I checked with two bodies (K-5 II S and K-01). Lens was serviced with another issue and before that everything was OK. This time service says everything is normal. Is that so? Has anyone experienced this?

Cleaning is not resolving this issue, I have cleaned everything with no result.

Make sure the lens is properly mounted. Its a new lens, WR, so it might be a tight fit, but it has to be mounted all the way to a little click sound.
And no, DA lenses should not ask for any info. If cleaning and stuff won't work, you should get it exchanged
Edit: Oh, also make sure your cameras have the latest firmware

Have you tried turning off the aperture in the custom menu and checking if your E-dial programming for manual is set to PLine?

Never mind that would only matter if you were using a manual lens.

This would happen if the body detects the lens as not having the data contact found on AF K-mount lenses. That is why the standard advice to clean the contacts was given. If your body properly detects other AF lenses the fault is with the lens. I would reopen communication with the shop that did the repair.
