Why no new lenses or renewal lenses?

Most of lenses are old and they never renewed any lenses(HD limited lenses? come on. so ridiculous).

Why??

I guess the newest ones are the DA 560mm and DA 20-40mm ltd. The limited are still good lenses. What I am waiting for is 24mm and 28mm primes. Hopefully one would be f2.0 or faster.
And the FA limiteds could be re-done, with new coatings, quickshift.. maybe a small improvement that doesn't drastically change their character..
Pentax certainly is slow on this front. We don't need more kit lenses, we need primes and maybe a ~15-55mm zoom that beats the current 16-50mm

There are 4 K-mount lenses in the lens roadmap for 2014 or later. The DA 20-40mm Ltd. and the 1.4x Tele-converter were both released within the last year.

Ricoh also has 2 other lens lines they are supporting. The Q mount got the wide zoom with a telephoto macro still on the roadmap, and the 645 line has gotten new lenses as well.

What do you consider "renewing" a lens?

The lenses are so good and unique compared to other manufacturers' offerings, I'm not sure what improvements they could make, except maybe adding WR. I'd rather see them put effort into something else.

Pentax APS-C has a good number of lenses already, more selection than is on offer for their medium and Q formats. If Ricoh has any real ambition in the commercial arena they will be concentrating on the future of professional commercial photography and medium format is the way forward in the commercial world. It is an area where the Pentax brand has more of a track record than either Canon or Nikon. It's the only area that Pentax trumps Canon and Nikon.

Imagine the Pentax brand in 5 years after Ricoh successfully parlays such an advantage; they could be the dominant force in commercial photography. That's the juice that Canon and Nikon use to grease the wheels of their consumer lines. Does Ricoh have that sort of long term vision, or did they buy Pentax for the patents that they could exploit in their other divisions?

I think we have most of the lenses we need... It would be good to have a fast wide angle (some 24 to 18mm) and an F/2.8 wide angle zoom, like a copy of tokina 11-16mm. Maybe also a tilt-shift.

A Better Way?

Hello Sunshine, welcome to the forum for ridiculous lenses!
Yes, Pentax should strive to be more like Canon, for example. Here's a lens lineup containing many new lenses and more coming all the time. This is a logical, well-reasoned and clear-cut approach to lens availability, wouldn't you say?
Zooms;
8-15mm f/4
10-18mm f/4.5-5.6
10-22mm f/3.5-4.5
15-85mm f/3.5-5.6
16-35mm f/2.8
16-35mm f/4
17-40mm f/4
17-55mm f/2.8
17-85mm f4-5.6
18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II
18-55mm f/4-5.6 IS STM
18-135mm f3/5-5.6
18-200mm f/3.5-5.6
24-70mm f/2.8
24-70mm f/4
24-105mm f4
28-135mm ff/3.5-5.6
28-200mm f/3.5-5.6
55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS II
55-250 f/4-5.6 IS STM
70-200mm f/2.8L USM
70-200mm f/f/2.8 IS II USM
70-200mm f/4
70-300mm f/4-5.6L III
70-300mm f/4-5.6 III USM
70-300mm f/4-5.6 DO IS USM
75-300mm f/4-5.6 III
75-300mm f/4-5.6 III USM
100-400mm f/4-5.6
200-400 f/4
Now, this is more like it! Look at those choices.
Like me to list the primes? Only thirty of those.
If bloated, confusing and redundant lens selection is your thing, don't wait for Pentax. Canon has you covered!
jmo,
Ron

Ricoh in the slr age made cameras with features at a consumer price that were only found on the higher end pro models at the time and were smart enough to adapt the K mount to some really decent glass still usable on our cameras today. I have a couple models I purchased new I still use, a KR-30Sp and an XRP that were/are extremely feature laden and well built. Given my experience with Ricoh I feel really confident they will continue to advance the Pentax line, at least a heck of a lot more and better than Hoya did. All Hoya really wanted was the medical application side of Pentax.

A refreshing of some of the older FA series designs maybe? Some of that's been done. Some of it's just not needed, the existing series is good. Just giving the new HD coating to the legacy lenses but keeping all the construction the same is a maybe - like the new versions of the pancake lenses.

24mm seems nice, but I just got the DA21mm ltd and I don't see any reason to make a 24mm unless it's FAST, like f1.4 fast. That comes at a cost, though a few more fast primes fleshing out the series might be interesting. I don't see Ricoh making a huge variety of lenses just to have them - overlap costs money, as there aren't as many K-mount cameras out there - and having low-selling lenses is very expensive for a company.

Pentax has the largest selection of lenses for APS-C of any other manufacturer. What more do we need?

By the way, the 55-300mm was renewed recently through the addition of Weather Resistance and HD.

It seems that the new "kit" lenses that have emerged these few years cater to the newcomers who are buying entry-level and mid level bodies. Pentax "updated" the DA limited primes and introduced the 20-40mm with their new coating, justifying it as an "adequate" response for the current enthusiasts, semi-pro and pro users. Since there's no FF body on the market I wouldn't expect to see Pentax update their FA limited lineup. Apart from the new FF 70-200mm and a Da 100-400ish lenses already in the road-map, I don't expect new ones emerging in the near future.

That's the one place I could see additions, faster lenses, but would they sell, they would be larger and more expensive, and you read a lot of how much the small primes are loved in these forums.

What seems to be missed by that large selection is the fact that the lenses can be smaller, and the fact that you don't have to stabilize the lens to also keep them smaller. I think that was a huge upgrade to the 55-300, I would like to see them weatherize more lenses.+

It was good to see them update the cheap kit lenses to WR when they are packaged with a WR camera, I don't think that was ever on the roadmap, probably because they aren't sold without a camera. The DA Limiteds were not only given new coatings but also rounded blades. I think the new coating is a big deal, I expect at some point that will be added to more lenses, but that may be a very expensive tooling changeover in the manufacturing process. When you actually look at it they have done quite a bit over the last couple of years.
