Cannot select 77 segment metering on K500

When selecting metering options on my K500, I'm only allowed to select "Center-weighted" or "Spot" metering. The 77 segment metering is grayed out and I'm not allowed to select. I'm pretty sure I have some other setting selected that prevents me from selecting the 77 segment metering, but I cannot find what it might be. Any help would be most appreciated as I'm feeling rather stupid at the moment.

Thanks!

What lens are you using? M lenses can only use Center-weighted or Spot. Matrix metering is reserved for A lenses or later. Lenses with an aperture ring have to be set to 'A'.

Ummm.... That would be it. 1st had my Pentax K 55mm f/1.8 and then my Pentax-M 50mm f/4 Macro mounted. Learned something new.

Thank you!
