Strange sound while saving pictures - K50

Hello community, I have bought a Pentax K50 a few days ago. Im very happy with but there is something strange. When I take a photo (RAW+, JPEG 16MP ***) there is a strange noise inside located near the memory card (Trancend 32GB UHS I 90MB/s). But it is only during the saving progress (red LED is shining). When the display shows the preview it becomes silent. It is a different sound as it comes from the shake reduction (for example in LiveView or Video-Mode). Is this a normal sound or should I send it back? I hope you understand what I mean. Greetings Philipp

Can you post a video of the issue?

Sure.
I hope you can hear it. I have only a tablet for recording.

That sounds like the shutter firing. The camera isn't set for multi-exposure is it? Check in Rec. Mode 2 menu.

I don't mean the shutter sound. I mean the sound after taking the photos when the red light is flashing.

Sorry, no idea, but if bought from a store I'd go back and check yours against another.

Whilst I have no idea what it is I don't think you should hear anything while the camera is processing the image to file.

Aye I can here it, sounds like a computer when they write to hard disks, but here no disk is involved.

Have you tried other cards? and if they're same, I think I'd return it.

No, but I will try it.

I habe bought it online because there is no store with Pentax cameras next to me.
Sending it back will cost so much time

Just before you do that... are there or have any other K50 users commented on wether their cameras do the same? just in case they all do it.

I just fired off a 6 fps burst on my K30 (a similar camera to the K50) and it doesn't make those 3 consecutive sounds while writing to the card like your K50 does in the video, but it does make a that very short 4th sound after finished writing to the card. I personally would exchange it if it's still under the store's return policy where you purchased it.

It sounds like shake reduction to me. I can get the same sound on my K-7 if I shoot in Live-View, as it seems like SR is on all the time in LV, even if the camera is busy.

If it happen when shooting with OVF, I would try with a reset of camera settings and see if disappear. Not sure where you find that option in the menus on a K50. You might also want to check if the sound disappear if turning of SR.

Reseting the camera and turning of SR doesn`t help.

---------- Post added 08-31-14 at 08:12 PM ----------

OK, strange thing now! If I take more then 3 photos, for example 6 to 10, my camera makes the same noise but the red light is flashing much longer then before (because there are more pictures in the buffer for writing). This mean my first analyse wasn`t correct. The sound doesn`t come in combination of writing to memory card. Without a memory card it is although there. Now two ideas:First one is that the buffer makes the noises (like an SSD in the computer, but why?). Second one is that it is something in the camera i don`t know. If I take one picture the sound comes although but shorter. If I take more then 3 pictures it has the length like in the recording and it will not take longer if I shoot more in a series.

Sorry for my bad english!

Very confusing, should I send it back or is it a normal thing ....

Oh and SR was turned on and off. It makes no difference at the noise.

I made a new video which shows it better.
