K-x has a problem

Since the K-x has no removable screen, I have a problem. Some months ago I went to use my Giotto to blow out the inside mirror and focusing screen, problem is, I didn't give it a puff outside the camera before doing this. Now it has insy spider webs on the screen and underneath the screen looks like some kind of fiber junk. Is there a service manual available that I can get to try and remove this junk. The junk doesn't hurt shooting as you know only dust on the sensor will be seen in photos. Help!!

The K-x does have a removable screen. I've swapped out the focusing screens in both my K-x bodies, and it's not a big deal, but you do need to use caution, don't touch the screen itself, and do it in a clean, relatively dust-free area. Here's a how-to video: (It's a K-r in the video, but it's exactly the same procedure.)

Good luck!
Bob :-)

It's not a pin. It's a release catch. Here's another video. You'll want to go about 6:20 into the video to see the procedure:

Sorry but I just can't see what he does to unclip what ever it is holding the screen in place. Thanks for the help anyway.

Got it Bob. I was on my tablet trying to see that but now that I'm on the computer with the headphones on, I can see where he's pointing and hear him better too. Thanks. I'm going to give this a try this weekend. Appreciate the help!
