smc F 35-70 minimum focus distance

I hate for my first post here to be such a dumb question, but I don't know that I've seen this kind of marking before. The lens review database says the minimum focus distance for the SMC F 35-70mm 3.5-4.5 is 32cm. That seems to be the minimum distance for macro at 70mm. Looking at the focus ring, it seems to say the minimum focus distance at 35mm is .8 meter and at 70mm it's around .73 meter. Is that correct?

No, the minimum is .32cm in macro mode which is within the green marked area beyond the 70mm mark. The lens catches at the 70mm mark but with slight pressure turning it will extend it into it's macro mode area where it can achieve it's minimum .32cm focus point.

I wondered about that with the green line past 70...
Turning past 70 makes sense for macro

The two red points make me think of focus indicator offsets for infrared film. Most film lenses had these. I guess there is an offset appropriate for 70mm and another for 35.. In between the two, you guess more :^)

at 35mm it's 0.7m! at 70mm when you move the zoom to macro area, it can focus on closer items up to 0.3m!

and it's easy to prove it, if you have the lens put it on 35mm and try focusing on an object closer than 70cm to camera's sensor! you can't! I tried it, I know.
