The other brands have weird exclusions and limitations for Manual mode with Auto ISO. Because it's Manual mode, they don't allow exposure compensation*, while TAv mode sensibly allows EC to adjust ISO. The ISO range may not include the "expanded" ISOs either. I can set my K-5 IIs Auto ISO range to 80-51200 and TAv mode will use all of them.

I'm new to TAv because the very last thing I wanted my K-7 to do was raise the ISO unexpectedly.

*Canon added this in a firmware update to the EOS 1D X, but just that camera.
