Clean green corrosion from flash battery contacts?

I suggest you use a Scotch Brite Scouring Pad (or similar) dipped in clear vinegar instead of a pencil. If the corrosion is thick enough, it would take a long time for the vinegar to dissolve it all on its own. The non-metallic pad will help remove the corrosion without damaging the battery contact.

I have use alcohol swabs (like you use for prepping injection sites) in this capacity in the past, and they have always worked well.

white distilled vinegar with salt mixed in it. raises the acidic nature of the vinegar and also works as a mild abrasive. That mixture is used to clean the corrosion off of copper.

Argh, unfortunately I've had no luck. Could I pay precision to fix it or are they only warranty repairs?
