spotmatic 2 metering

Hi, have spotmatic and am wondering how the metering works?

Have read an online manual for it and know i have to engage the SW button to meter. The manual says that if needle is close to + it will be over exposed.

I have iso125 film loaded it and have set the dial to be first mark past the 100 iso mark.

I point it at a wall with setting of 1/15 f 8, with this settng the needle rest in the middle.

The manual states that if the needle is close to the + it will overexpose, thing is if i increase the shutter to 1/60 the needle goes right up to + mark, if use f22 it does the same, if use f2.8 it goes to - mark?

This does not seem to correspond with what manual states, it seems to be the opposite?

So what is the correct method to judge under / over exposure?

thanks

This is just a guess, but did you insert the battery upside-down? Sounds like the needle is going up when it's supposed to go down.

The brackets that frame the needle in the viewfinder indicate one stop over/under.

I wish they would reissue the Spotmatric with a digital engine.
