Flu card not working

Hello All again !

I just bought a new Pentax K-3 which came with an 8gb flucard. I've inserted it into slot 2, and switched on the camera, it beeps, but I get no wifi icon on the screen. When it stops beeping, I go to the menu and check the "wrench 3 page" and "Wireless Memory Card", and there's nothing beside it. I click on it and the screen says: there is no memory card in slot 2.

I am obviously thinking that this wifi card is DOA. But also my K-3 is not auto focusing in low light (I've posted another thread about the auto focus issue)

Thank you, your help would be appreciated.

That's not the 16Gb Pentax O-FC1 flucard, and therefore does not support wireless tethering or interaction with the camera itself. The only thing you'll be able to do is connect to the card and view the photos in a browser.

Bummer ! What a let down.

I did notice I could get connected to my android phone, and there was some browser thingy, so I was confused. I don't know why Pentax bundles it with this particular card. Oh well, time to save for a GPS module instead.

I think it's an Australia-only thing. Bundling the 8Gb flucard is a mistake, yet they keep on bundling it...

I got lucky when I bought my k50, the pentax website said it came with the flucard when I assume they meant the eyefi card that they are now bundled with and my local dealer matched that. So I got a nice 16gb card
