I believe it can do the "tagging" and "electronic compass", not the "simple nav" and the "astrotracing" bit.
IIRC it was to be addressed in a firmware update, but never was.

Then that means I need to sell or trade my camera :/

What cameras does it work with?

I believe you will be safe with a K5, K5II and K3 (which however doesn't support "simple navigation")
Maybe someone more versed in this topic will chime in and provide more details.

Works on the K-30, K-50, K-500, and K-3 with every feature except simple navigation. Does not work on K-S1, IIRC. See post below

Looks like I need to sell my k-01 and get a k-30/50 or a k-5 iis.

Irritating to say the least.

Aren't there astrotracing mounts? or are those more expensive than buying a new camera?

Most options are pretty expensive though I guess there is this: Orion Adventures in Astrophotography Bundle | Orion Telescopes

Would also allow me to use it with a Q if I ever decide to get one

Only issue seems to be very heavy setups and polar alignment being annoying.

Well, doesn't seem bad if it works reliably... sample gallery is unimpressive to say the least...

That is so dumb. The K-S1 is so crippled.

Well... it's a low-end camera...
However on the K500 it was meant to replace astrotracing should work, so yeah...

If all you want is Astrotracing, you also have the option of some sort of equatorial mount similar to that used by astronomers. I believe there are some posts on this site regarding a "barn door" device that is sort of the low-end, low-tech solution. Tuco (site member) built one for himself with good results:

It does work with the K-S1, at least according to page 88 of the manual. The electronic compass as well as automatically setting the time to the satellites, too, but not the simple navigation.
