I need gift ideas for camera gear!

My fiance was asking me for gift ideas, so......what camera gear should I ask for? The budget is about $100, so lenses are out. What else should I think about? Filters? Software? Other gadgets? Any good books? Advise me!

I would recommend Lightroom 5 standalone software which is $79.99 right now. I am just learning to use it but it not only brings out the best in your photos but i feel it gives you a better understanding of the different parameters that made your shot turn out the way it did.

Lightroom is great.

I always suggest sling straps for the camera, they're comfortable and secure. Joby makes good ones, I have a Lensloop. Get one with a sliding mount bracket so the camera slides along the strap, but the strap stays in place - that can even be placed beneath an open jacket if you want more security.

+1 about Lightroom but I would consider the idea of some books and needed accessories (if you need them) as a spare battery, a memory card, a bag...

A Tripod!

Always overlooked by lot of people until they get serious about their pictures. It helps you in self portrait, close up, low light, time lapse, landscape . . .

Do you use and need a flash?
How many photography books you already have?

Without knowing you it is a little difficult...

> Yongnuo YN560 or the transmitter (560TX), if you already have the flash.
> A 720nm filter to do IR!
> A set of gels for your flash (CTBs, CTOs, color effect gels)
> A macro rail!
> A pano head for your tripod

Most of the above will allow you to do photography in a different way.

I see from your profile you don't have a macro lens. What about a Raynox 150? It would work really well with your 55-300, and add another dimension to your 31 and 77. Light weight, versatile, useful.

You have some nice equipment. Do you have a good camera bag, sling bag, back pack?

Curious if you ever narrowed it down to anything?

Heavy ND filters are popular right now. They allow you to cut down the light to a point where you can use much slower shutter speeds in fairly bright light in order to blur motion.
