K-X refuses to switch to Auto Focus

I have a K-X and it suddenly refuses to switch to Auto Focus mode. I noticed the issue after I changed batteries. I switched back to the old batteries, by no AF.

I search this forum and tried the suggested solutions.

What I tried:
  • Mounting a different lens. (Also will not AF)
  • Resetting the camera
  • Cleaning the contacts on the camera and the lens.
  • Wiggling the lens to see if the contacts are out of align.
  • Threatening to purchase a Nikon!

The AF pin does stick out when the camera is in AF mode. All the other functions, metering, etc., appear to work without issue.

Any ideas? I do not mind manual focusing, but it is hard without the old style split ring.

Have you tried moving the AF switch back and forth?

I am confused, in what way should I use the Green mode to fix this issue?

Thanks

Well, in Green mode, the camera ignores most user settings, so if it works, as it should, in Green mode, then that means you've possibly changed a setting somewhere. If that's the case, its a matter of finding which setting. If it has the same fault in Green mode, then likely there's some other cause.

What firmware version are you on?
