Abbreviations

Is there anywhere that all the camera jargon and abbreviations have been listed, so that newcomers to dslr can look them up and see what some of the discussions are about? lol
I didn't realise I needed to learn a new language as well.....
Or will I just have to keep googling for explanations?
For instance I know what AF is and VF
but some of the others just baffle me...Cl ????

You've got me! Many of the abbreviations are made up by the commenter and can be understood by context. Some are just plain silly.

CA: Chromatic Aberration - Different colors get projected differently in a lens so that aberrations appear in the picture.
Distortion - Parts of the image gets projected stretched out to give it a barrel or pincushion appearance.
Coma - Points of light don't get projected as points but rather as V's or similar, especially at the borders.
SR: Shake Reduction
etc.

Consumer Intelligence (oxymoron)? My bad...did not realize the original was "C" "l" (lowercase "L").

IDK
YMMV

Abbreviations are a tricky wicket. It's always best to not use them, and if need, define them first. When among a specific
group of experts, (i.e. we Pentaxians), it's safe-ish to assume certain common abbreviations will be known by most users,
and those few newbies who don't recognize SMC or OVF will quickly pick it up.

OTOH, the fast-paced tech boom of the late nineties coupled with texting generation has left us all with a slew of buzzwords
and abbreviations tailor designed for the lazy and trendy. ROTFCMEO

I was initially thinking Continuous Integration (software development process), but it was CL, not CI

Maybe they talk about a Vito CL? Voigtländer Vito CL - Camerapedia
Or a CLA (Cleaning, Lubrication, Adjustment) without the adjustment part?
