Is there a better manual for the K3?

Maybe a Dummies one? That manual is a pain to figure out in parts.

Have you downloaded the PDF version? It's portable but its biggest advantage for me is its searchable.

There's an after-market shook too. The K5 version was good if that helps.
PENTAX DSLRs: The Pentax K-3 e-book, Christmas 2013 edition, is finally available.

Does the e-book explain the different AF modes and what they really mean? I sort of understand them but I am never sure.

If his K-5 e-book is anything to go by it will talk about the different AF modes.

The K-3 has a smaller manual than K-5 and earlier manuals and I still found it helpful for the K-5 (over standard manual) - so it seems likely these e-books will add value.

Have you thought of writing one. There is an alternative you can purchase PENTAX DSLRs I would say it's OK

I bought the e-book and like it, but I also downloaded the k5-II manual. It is more extensive and lots of the k5-II controls/settings are the same so I have found it quite helpful where there is minimal info in the k3 manual.
