Mounting an AF080C Ring Flash

I was not able to reply to NutKasse' query directly as it was on the B&H section.

NutKasse, the AF080C thread is a little confusing, because what looks like an internal thread is actually a set of anti-reflection rings inside the bore of the flash.

Even more confusing if the complete kit is not available, the thread on the front of the AF080C matches the magnetic close up ring.

The real lens mounting thread is almost invisible, it is a short 49mm thread on the rear of the flash body which screws into the macro lens.

Here is a photo of the AF080C mounted on the SMC Pentax-M Dental Macro 1:4 100mm.

The ist Ds is shown as the camera as Ist-D series was last Pentax dslr able to control the AF080C in TTL mode

The close up lens kit is shown in its box with the magnetic ring at the front.
