Thanks wharvey. It's all part of a work flow you develop. I'm in the finals of my daughter's competitive cheer season, so I think what ever work flow patterns you get in, I think we all somehow work out our own ideas and favorite programs. I found out that the "pros" in my area always shoot jpg for speed of post processing, but I'm still shooting raw to preserve the best quality I can (so that favorites can be cropped and things like white balance and denoising can be done). I think for some final processing, LightZone and even Luminance HDR can be used for non-sports pics.
And I liked LightZone a little better than the version of Silkypix that came with my K3 even.
