Color Temperature Question

I shoot with the color temperature (K) fixed at 5000 or 5500 yet when I bring the photo into Photoshop the Color Temp is always around 1000 higher. If I shoot at 5000, photoshop shows 6000 "as shot" and if I shoot at 5500 photoshop reports it as 6600. So what gives?

Its a bug in lightroom - though for me after importing: the images have WB values in LR with only +/-100k variance, +1000 is a disturbing amount of shift.

I work the same way, with a fixed kelvin white balance of 5000K, I think it is also worth mentioning that I shoot DNG.

Also check whether you are using the adobe or the embedded camera profile. That seems to change the temp but I am not sure why.

I also shoot DNG and I said it was photoshop, but that isn't right. My initial step is Adobe Bridge.
