What do I need to repair this

It locks focus fine, it's not off. The problem is that while focusing it moves the zoom ring as well. Oh well, I'll just open it and try to learn more about how lenses work

I could return it, but I would have to pay for shipping. It's not really valuable, and I would not miss the opportunity to dissect a lens - never done that before.

The DA 18-55mm AL II has a link for disassembly. It may be useful.

I suppose you could use the lens for reverse stacking too.

You traded for the weakest broken lens in the list.

Find another broken lens and see if you can make 1 good lens from 2 bad ones.
