So, I received a Penta K50 for graduating college. I have an old Vivitar 28mm Auto Wide Angle that I thought was a K mount.
It won't attach to the the K50. It fits into the lens cavity (I don't even know the proper names of these things!), and the flange-thing people often remove is not the problem. (I did remove that piece and it did not make the lens fit) I can get the lens onto the camera, but it will only turn a little bit and I DO NOT want to force it.
As far as I can see, the depths are correct, the mounting "blades" fit when aligned, and this is a "K" mount lens...
The blades on this Vivitar are WIDER than the 18-55mm stock lens that came with the camera, but as mentioned above, the lens does sit entirely flush with the face of the camera; it just won't spin into place.
What is going on here? I don't think I'm
not being forceful enough. It will smoothly engage for about 1/4", and then that's it. The camera has even prompted me for the focal length on one occasion, but the lens is not on secure enough to trust shooting with it. I've had it "pop" off while focusing. I really like the manual focus on this lens, and it shoots a neat video, for sure. I'd really like to utilize it!
I've included pictures below so one of you may be able to help me out, if you'd be so kind!
