645 film won't advance

Just removed my 1984 Pentax 645 from storage. I thought I'd removed the batteries, but hadn't. One of the AA's leaked. I cleaned up the mess, cleaned the contacts, put in 6 new AA's, and loaded some film. In the off setting, the led display works, shows M 1000 right now, I can change the ISO setting and Mode setting. But when I turn on the camera on, the Led display goes blank. I've followed the instructions in the user manual, removed the film pack, turned the camera on and pushed the exposure button. Nothing happens. It's supposed to advance the film to exposure #1.

Any ideas what my problem is and how I can fix it? Thanks for any suggestions.

Same thing here - I will try changing the internal battery , but fear something more substantial

did you ever figure this out or get it fixed ?

I believe I've fixed this - cleaning the 4 contacts and pins on the back of the camera and on the film insert - they looked okay, but maybe some oxidation
was blocking the connection - use a pencil eraser

now all good
